Medical superintendent and professor of Radio diagnosis (Radiology)

Dr. Ramesh Kumar Sahu

Dr. Ramesh Kumar Sahu is a highly accomplished Radiologist with more than 30 years of clinical, academic, and administrative experience. He is currently serving as the Medical Superintendent and Professor of Radiology at Shri Shankracharya Institute of Medical Science, Bhilai.

 

A distinguished academician and an expert in diagnostic imaging, Dr. Sahu has contributed extensively through his teaching, research publications, and participation in national medical conferences. His leadership continues to strengthen the institution’s medical education and patient care standards.

Educational Qualifications

Dr. Ramesh Kumar Sahu completed his MBBS in 1988 from Pt. JNM Medical College, under Pt. Ravi Shankar University. He later pursued and successfully completed his MD in Radio Diagnosis (MD/MS) in 1992 from the same institution. He is registered with the Chhattisgarh Medical Council under the registration number CGMC/2008/2010, dated 12th November 2008.

Teaching Experience

Dr. Sahu began his academic career as a Junior Resident in the Department of Radio Diagnosis at Pt. JNM Medical College, Raipur, where he served for two years (1989–1991).

Following this, he worked as a Tutor/Senior Resident in the same department and institution from 1st January 1993 to 30th June 1998, gaining more than five years of valuable teaching and clinical experience.

He was then appointed as an Assistant Professor of Radio Diagnosis at Pt. JNM Medical College, Raipur, a position he held from 1st July 1998 to 3rd April 2006, contributing eight years to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Dr. Sahu continued his academic journey as an Associate Professor at Pt. JNM Medical College, Raipur from 4th April 2006 to 11th June 2011, completing over seven years in this role. He further served as Associate Professor at ICARE of Medical Science, Haldia, from 30th July 2015 to 31st May 2017, adding an additional four years and two months of experience.

He was promoted to Professor of Radio Diagnosis at ICARE Institute of Medical Science & Research, Haldia, where he worked from 1st June 2017 to 30th November 2020, serving for three years and five months.

Since 1st December 2020, Dr. Sahu has been serving as a Professor of Radio Diagnosis at Shri Shankracharya Institute of Medical Science, Bhilai, where he continues to contribute to medical education and institutional leadership.

Additionally, he contributed to the National Nodal Center for National Faculty Development, held from 21st to 23rd February 2023 at Bhilai.
